In Loving Memory of Joan "Meme" Donelan
With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a remarkable soul, Joan Donelan, affectionately known as "Meme." Joan peacefully departed from this world on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, Joan's journey through life took her to various places, including Elizabeth, Aberdeen, Toms River, and finally Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Joan embodied the essence of love and kindness as a devoted wife, nurturing mother, cherished grandmother, supportive sister, trusted friend, and wise counselor. Her presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew her.
Among her passions, Joan found solace in the pages of Stephen King's novels, indulging in the thrill of his storytelling. She delighted in the simple joys of clipping coupons, a testament to her practical nature, and found delight in the intellectual challenge of Jeopardy.
As we bid farewell to Joan, we find solace in the memories she leaves behind. She joins her beloved parents, Mary and David Webster, her husband Michael F Donelan, and daughter Kathleen Brecht, in eternal peace.
Joan's legacy lives on through her son Michael Donelan and his wife Elena Donelan, who cherished her dearly. Her grandchildren, Courtney Brecht, Brian Smith-Brecht, Ryan Donelan, Finnegan Donelan, and Gavin Donelan will forever carry her love in their hearts.
In addition to her immediate family, Joan leaves behind her sister Audrey and husband Joe DeStephan, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who were touched by her love and wisdom.
As we mourn the loss of Joan, let us remember her with fondness, celebrating the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared. May her spirit continue to shine bright in our hearts, guiding us with her gentle wisdom and enduring love.
Rest in peace, dear Joan. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your love will live on forever in our memories.
